How To Enable Hibernate Mode in Windows 8 and 8.1

 If you are new to windows 8 and 8.1, you might be thinking that there is lack of Hibernation in this version of version. But actually you are wrong, Hibernate mode is by default disable in Windows 8 and 8.1, and only Sleep, Shut down and Restart power options are available. You've to enable hibernate mode in your computer having Windows 8 or 8.1 by some simple steps of setting. Just follow below easy steps to enable hibernate mode in your Windows 8 or 8.1 computer.





1. First Click  Power Option on the bottom tray of desktop.

2. Now click on More power options.

3. After clicking that, a window will popped up. Click on Choose what the power button does from left side bar of window.

 4. Now click on Change settings that are currently unavailable. Now you can change all shutdown settings to enable or disable them.

5. At bottom of window Check the box before Hibernate and click on Save Changes.

6. You've done. You can check Hibernate option in PC Settings.

How to Disable Applications using more Internet Data in Windows 8 Computer

When you start using Windows 8 in computer, you might be stunned with the huge internet data wasting in applications. Sometimes we sat before our computer having windows 8 operating system and after some time of internet surfing, we get suprised to check our internet data usage. That's two or three times more than our data use in windows XP or vista.

We don't have problem with this excessive internet data usage when we have unlimited downloading data plans, he don't need to check that total data usage. But It really means a lot for a person having limited internet data plan. Specially for a person who have few GB of internet data plan.

I'm sharing below some tips which will helps you disable or remove that applications using more internet data and will let you maintain your internet speed.


1. Change Windows Update Settings. You must change windows update settings. By default it is in Automatic Windows Update, you need to change it to first make you notify before downloading any updates. Follow below steps to complete this task.

  • Open Control Panel, and Click on System and Security.
  • Now hit Windows Update option and then Click on Change settings at left side menu.
  • Check for Important Updates option. There are four options available, We have to select third option saying Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them.and then Click OK.

2. Disable Automatic Install Updates of Web Browsers. Web Browsers like Firefox, Chrome, Opera etc. are by default in Automatic Install Updates mode, and that really waste your internet data. Follow below simple steps to disable these automatic updates.

  • Open your Web Browser (Say Mozilla Firefox)
  • Navigate to Options.
  • A pop up window appears, click on Advanced tab.
  • Choose Update option. And then click on Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them.
  • Click OK and you've done.

3. Change PC Settings of Windows 8. By default many applications are installed in windows 8 computer and that waste your internet data in continuously updating. You need to disable these applications or make their status to Off for updates.

  • Press Win + C, you'll move to charm bar in windows 8.
  • Click on Settings option, then click on Change PC Setting showing at bottom of tab. 
  • After clicking PC setting you will be directed to a new window, click on Search from the tabs.
  • A list of applications or apps will be shown which is using your internet data. Choose unwanted apps from this list and change their status to OFF.

Windows 8 Keyboard Shortcuts List

When you switch from Windows Xp, Vista to Window 7, 8; you really feel lack in windows shortcut keyboard keys. You are more habitual in these commands with windows XP and Windows Vista, but in this article I've a short list of shortcut keyboard keys of Windows 8.

Check all the shortcuts or commands by doing it your own on windows 8 of your computer. Here I'm showing Windows key by Win keyword.

    Win : switch between the last running Windows 8 screen and the Start up screen
    Win + C : displays the Charms tab which contains the options of the Settings, Devices, Share and Search
    Win + D : minimize all windows and  launches the desktop
    Win + E : opens the My Computer window
    Win + F : opens the File Search panel
    Win + H : opens the Share panel
    Win + I : opens PC Settings panel
    Win + K : opens the Devices panel
    Win + L : locks your laptop or system
    Win + M : minimizes the current Explorer or Internet Explorer window
    Win + O : toggles device orientation lock on and off
    Win + P : switch your display to a second display or projector
    Win + Q : open the App Search panel
    Win + R : opens the Run box
    Win + U : open the Ease of Access Centre
    Win + V : cycle through toasts ( it shows notifications)
    Win + W : search your system settings
    Win + X : displays a text menu of useful Windows tools
    Win + Z : displays the right-click context menu when in a full-screen app
    Win + + : Zoom in your window, The more you click + button the more it zoom in
    Win + - : zoom out
    Win + , : Aero peek at the desktop
    Win + Enter : launch Narrator
    Win + PrntScr : capture the current screen and save it to your My Pictures folder in .png file format
    Win + Tab : switch between running windows or apps
